Ball with a cold My ball python was bitten real bad by a rat about a year ago. He didn’t eat for over 9 months. He’s eating now and I thought was doing fine but I can hear him wheezing when he breaths. This just started. The people at the pet store said to put Bird meds in his water. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Ball with a cold sometimes, when bps are going into shed, they can wheeze. has your bp shown any sign of shedding? when they shed, they also shed inside their mouths (as weird as that sounds) and it can sometimes get caught in their throat. nothing to worry about, it’ll go away. my snake does that too sometimes :-)

Ball with a cold lol you sure they shed inside their mouths? Like the pink fleshy area? They shed skin from that? Okay...I’m pretty sure what you mean, is when they’re about to shed, the skin can get loose around their nostrils and cause a wheezing sound. But if your snake isn’t about to shed or anything, you might have a respiratory problem on your hands. I’d forget what the pet store told you(they usually know nothing..) and get your snake to a good reptile vet if the problem persists. If you notice a bubbly mucous liquid around the mouth and nostrils, and/or wheezing, and/or raising the head up to breathe...then I’d say its a respiratory infection.

Ball with a cold They dont shed the inside of their mouths. If you all got nice one piece shed you would know that. Tell us more about the sounds.. i doubt it is because of shed..more likelu during feeding or drinking or because you have too cool of conditions.
