If you get babies they each will need to be house individually in a 10 gallons tank! And do some research on Ball Pythons before committing for 30+ years. |

They cost less, are lighter and easier to clean and help maintain the proper humidity better. But you will still need one tub for each Ball Python. And I would recommend that you go to Amazon.com and order this book. It’s only $10 but worth far more!!!

Quote: but if u go to reptile stores or reptile expo’s they will have sometimes 2 of them in the same tank, does any1 know if they are territorial?
That’s because it’s a temporary set-up - they expect to sell them quickly. Yes, they are territorial. So when you see them "cuddling", they are actually being territorial and one is trying to dominate the other to get the perceived "best spot". Domination = stress = suppressed immune system = sick snake = 2 sick snakes. There is absolutely NO benefit to the snakes to house them together. The only benefit is to the owner to save money. In which case, if the owner needs to save money, they probably can’t afford two snakes in the first place and the vet bills that come with them. It’s a 30 year commitment, and because ball pythons are good at hiding symptoms of illness, by the time you actually see a symptom, the illness is advanced and needs immediate attention. Housed together, they both need immediate vet care. Bottom line - 2 snakes = 2 enclosures. |

Breeding does not mean housing multiple together permanently. My males spend 48 hours or less with the females before being moved to the next females or being placed back in their respective enclosures to rest and to be fed. |

Quote: but then how do people breed them tho if they cant be in the same tank?
They each have their own enclosures and the males are introduced to the female’s enclosure for brief periods of time - not permanently. Once the females are gravid, the male does not share an enclosure with a female again until the following season. Breeding is stressful enough - being forced to live with another ball python when they’re prefer to live alone is not something any keeper should want for their animals. |
