Had several sheds this past week, so I wanted to share some pics of the gang with everyone. As is usual with my picture posts, many are "Off Topic", but hey, I’m showing off my babies...what do you expect...lol Here’s my big boy Alcatraz. Had him in a holding cell while cleaning his tub, and looked very concerned as to whether I was doing it correctly or not...
Here’s Hades. If you look, you can still make out the capital letter "H" on one of her dorsal blotches or saddles. To me she has such a classic corn snake look...
And Phantom (pastel ghost) just after a fresh shed. I can’t wait to see what kind of ghosts we’re going to get when I breed her to Gabriel the frosted tequila sunrise ghost next year (hopefully)...
And Mrs. Hollywood, the 50/50 Cali king I picked up in Daytona last year from Don Stipp. She’s growing...slowly, but growing none the less....
This is Jorgan, my Prairie king. She is my RI success story. She came down with an RI last year and I actually nursed her through it without antibiotics or vet care. I DO NOT recommend anyone trying this...if your snake is sick, take it to a vet. But she is living proof that snakes DO have the ability to fight off and survive RI’s on their own (well with a little human intervention in her case)...
This is Banana, my daughter’s striped albino Cali king. She’s a real character (the snake and my daughter of course)...
Lightning my little female Lavender albino Cali king...Before anyone gets their panties in a wad, yes I know all about the lavender/albino/albino lavender controversy. I just use this name for simplicity sake...
And my favorite pain in the butt, Ivy. Ivy is one of my wild caught yellow rat snakes. My buddy Preston and I caught her last summer here in Marion county Florida. She may very well be that "one" snake that never tames down. If anyone ever asks me if I have a snake that bites, I simply say yes and point to her tub! She is very unpredictable, prone to surprise bites, and is a master of yoga (she can bend around and bite you from angles you never would have thought possible!)...
And last but not least, here’s an action shot of Ramses, my one and only ball python (subject to change, as always). Here he is actually using his water bowl as an instrument of death. He pinned the rat against the side of the water bowl in such a manner that the water bowl itself was being used to strangle the rat. He took 2 such rats that evening. He’s going through a growing spurt I believe, and he’s growing quite nicely!

lol..hate to single you out but...if you’ll notice in all of the pics, the date stamp is as follows day/month/year. So it is the sixth of may, 2008 not the fifth of June, 2008. Don’t worry, I’ll get you there...lol |

I think you would be very pleased with one. I’m not sure if it’s just mine or if it is indicative of the species, but Hollywood is so laid back. She is ball python calm, and just seems to love being handled! |

I love my king she is sweet even though she thinks she is a scary bad .ss, I plan on getting 1 or 2 more females this year and one male I would like to have a colubrid collection of about 10 (between the hondos and the kings), I would also like to add something bigger, but still manageable for a woman alone, I have narrow it down to 3 species now I need to decide which one I will pick (this will be limited to just a breeding pair) and of course my main focus BP which that I don’t put a limit on! |
