The mouse that got squeesed just a little too hard!

I just fed my BP, and we’re moving him up gradually, and todays mouse was quite a bit bigger than the others. Oh well for gradually! Anyway, Carmel sensed the size difference and didn’t go at it at first, but he went after it after a minuet or so. He grabbed and wrapped around it like usual, but since he sensed the big size, he squeezed much harder than usual, which made the mouse’s bottom bulk up and the mouse went to the bathroom a little. Well at least it wasn’t in the water bowl! Carmel is just now finishing his meal (don’t worry, since he was fed live, and I feed him live, I’m still watching! That’s the advantage of having your computer by all of your cages!), but it took him much longer to eat it, but that’s normal! Wouldn’t it take you a few more minuets to eat a larger meal than you’ve ever eaten?!? Lol!!

A few weeks ago my 8 year old was feeding our Royal a F/T mouse on tongs, and for some reason he didn’t let go of the mouse after our snake struck had it. The snake must of thought this was a sign of mighty mouse aggression because he squee-eee-zed it just a little too tightly and... POP goes the weasel! What a mess.

Tito, that isn’t true. You can feed your snakes in their cages. I have done it for 9 years, and they NEVER bit me once.

Yeah! Plus when I feed, myhand barely goes in the cage, plus my BP has never opened his mouth or struck while I’ve had him except for when he is going after a mouse.

You’ve been feeding and caring for snakes for 9 years? Are you sure?
