HI Well, you have to go and get them probed by a vet, but a way that you can estimate is to see if they have really pronounced claws, and if they do, its most likely a boy, if not, its most likely a female.

HI could you give a pic of a pronounced claw and a non-pronounced claw because for a snake, i dont know what pronounced and non-pronounced claw looks like. if you could i would really apreciate it

HI pronounced, REALLY noticable, non-pronounced, you have to look for it before you’ll find it. I don’t have a picture sorry.

HI
These are small spurs that are located back along side the vent opening!! It is best to have them probed as some females can also have spurs!!

HI
Not always!!! In most cases this is true, but when you start working with a large # of Ball Pythons you will become aware of this!!

HI Probe set will cost you 10-40$. Being taught how to sex your snake will take about 1-10 minutes. You learn on the net if you like but I do not recomend it. You need to be carefull but your risks of hurting the snake is extrememly low if you know what you are doing. I would probe it for you and show you if you were in the IL area.

HI Probing is real easy and you can buy the video to show you how to probe and pop snakes as well. I would not go by the size of spurs. I always probe every snake i get to asssure correct sex. I learned only 2 months ago how to probe.

HI Probing is when you take an appropriate sized probe(usually a thin metal rod with a ball at the end) and gently put it in the snakes cloaca. Mark how far it goes in, then measure how many subcaudal scales it goes. Usually females will probe only a handful of scales, and males will probe much more. Can’t remember the average numbers. It may be hard to picture from just reading my crappy post, lol. Someone else will probably be able to explain it to you better, or link you to a good site that explains it.
