 I’m Stumped!

So, Pretzel will be up to size this year, after raising her for 2+ years. :D

But I’m stumped with what to run through her :confused:

The possible options are: Lemon Pastel, Mojave, Yellowbelly, Jolliff Tiger and "maybe" a Spider if he gets up to weight in time (but the spider is a big if for being ready).

She’s nice and dark, and wonderful black back. I’ve been leaning more towards Mojave and Jolliff Tiger, because I’m worried that with her being so dark, that she’d "dull" out the Lemon Pastel.

She’d be perfect for an albino project, but I don’t have any albino’s or even het albino’s.

I don’t know, its just me but I think it would be cool to breed the yellow belly to her. Just my thought though. Good luck.

"Im by no means an expert, never bred a snake. But personally if I had the choice, Ide go with the lemon pastel. Maybe Im wrong, its just an opinion. I just really like the Lemon Pastel, then again you might be right, she might dull out the Lemon Pastel. If that didnt happen, it would be cool, but you never know... I would breed her to your yellowbelly, mojave AND your joliff tiger. Breeding her to all three of those will not only give you the coolest clutch ever, but it will also show you which morph she brings out better.

I think I would go the mojo route- see if the black back passes on- black back mojo’s would be neat. Tho I am not sure if black back is recessive or dom/co-dom....BUT either way, I wouldlove to see a black back mojo.

I don’t think you can go wrong- even if you did the tiger male with her. But if it were me, i’d do the mojo!!
Th espider would be cool- but I wouldn’t want to get hopes up if he i snot ready...

I can’t wait tosee what she produces!!

She is a great looking gal and would be nice with just about anything. My usual recommendation is... go with what you need. However, given her reduced pattern... I’d say the go with the Tiger!

I’d go with the YB and the spider. That way the odds of her becoming gravid are better than just with the one male, in case one doesn’t ...you know...do the honours. Either way it’ll be a nice surprise. YB are hot cakes at the moment as are spiders.

Thanks everyone for your comments! I think it’s going to be Griffin, the YB that will be paired with her!



Bruce, I haven’t asked Kevin and Kara about her - as I don’t know that I believe she’s genetic. She certainly doesn’t have any indicators that she might be (no clear belly, etc). So - time will tell what I get from her! I just think because she’s so dark, she probably would throw "dirty" pastels.
