 I finally got my ball python!!! ^.^ (Question)

So I just came back with my new baby ball python about 10 minutes ago and I was reading through some of the posts. I have a question, is pine safe to use for a ball python? I read a ton of care sheets before this and all I saw was never use cedar, never use cedar, and never use cedar, all the time. I never saw any warnings about pine however. Just wanted to be sure and ask before I went ahead and put him in his tank. Please reply back to me.

If you are going with shavings as a substrate, use aspen. I believe pine although not as bad as cedar is still bad for BP’s.

No pine and no cedar, you can use aspen, cypress mulch, repti-bark and other type of barks, newspaper, paper towel.

I’m really glad you guys told me that. I had bought pine the other week but I wasn’t gonna put her in there until I knew for sure.

Thanks again. I’ll probably post some pics of her tonight when I can upload them. She has a name now too. I named her after a Twilight character. (Lol I’m obsessed) Her name is Athenadora but Athe for short. >.<
