Help

My snakes eye looks like it has a retained eye cap but is eye cap came off during its last she (less than 1 week). It also looks a little swollen but only slightly. Any suggestions on what it could be?

Maybe it got something in it? I volunteer at a pet shop and we had a water dragon once that had something in its eye but we just flushed it out with water and the swelling went down. So maybe you could try doing that and if it doesn’t help, you may want to bring it to a vet.

always check the shed ot make sure the eye caps come of (i do with all snakes ) this will give me an ideal if the cap was retain . I aslo doubt ther somethingin the eye sicne they have a scale and not a lid like lizards do. so if there any thing in the eye it be in the softer skin that between the scales .. aslo might want ot check for mites as most snakes from store end up loaded with mites and you seeignthe first signs of the young attacking the snake.
