 Dont know wut to do...

i am planning on breeding my ball pythons (male=700grams, female=2500grams) but when ever i put them in the same cage my female moves slowly towards the male like shes ganna strike at him, and i dont know wut to do. any advice??

Are you sure you have a female? You maybe putting two males together.

Maybe put them in the same cage but with some sort of mesh-like barrier in between them? It would allow them to get used to the site and smell of the other.

First... know that BPs rarely strike at each other. The reason for this is that BP’s use scent, motion, vibration and heat signatures to identify food, threats, and each other. Their targeting system (for striking) uses the movement and heat signature. BP’s don’t recognize each others heat signature as a threat or food. Even males battling over a female only wrestle each other.

It sounds to me like a blind date. There’s nervousness in the beginning, and it takes a little time to get to know each other, then everything works out fine.

ok ill just leave them together, cuz when ever i think she is ganna strike i just pull the male out of the cage cuz i dont want him getting hurt.also on the 19th i will be going to my first reptile show, in wheaton illinois cuz i live like 10 mins away and i will be getting a spider.
