My boys waste no time
I tried my yellow belly too a normal female. He is around 500 grams , I don’t think he has figured it out. I also plan on putting my cinnamon in with a few girls too. I would like to know you toughts on that I have a 100% clown male from TSK. Would you back him up with different male. I want some female possible het clowns. |

Not unless you have another 100% het clown male, no - I wouldn’t back him up with anything. You’d have no way of knowing for sure who fathered the normal appearing babies, since you can have more than one father sire a clutch. Also, you can have a co-dom or dom pairing result in all normals (one of my pastel clutches had no pastels this past season). |

I agree with Robin, I used a co-dom and a het recessive in each pairing this season, and when the season was over I really wished I hadn’t. I have a bunch of holdback girls, that I may very well find out in 3 years are simply normals thrown by my pastel and not my het orange. This season I am only pairing my het recessives (blue hypo, pied, and orange hypo) with one female and hoping for the best. Bruce |
