Mouth rot contageous? Hey, well, I just found out (or think, rather) that cupid has a very early stage of mouth rot, due to rubbing his nose on the glass. He has a vet appointment for tuesday (they weren’t open on the weekend). Welll, Quigley is in the same room as Cupid (NOT same aquarium), and I was wondering if mouth rot could transmit to quigley? Thanks, I hope all had a happy thanksgiving,*BoaBabe*

Nope, it’s an infection BoaBabe,I don’t believe mouth rot (stomititis) is contagious. As you stated in your post, it can be caused by a trauma such excessively rubbing on the cage screen. It can also be caused by some other injury such as being bitten by a rodent, consistently keeping the temps too low, and/or not keeping the cage clean. Your vet will likely describe a topical, an antibiotic or both. Good luck, I hope it all goes well.
