D@mn shed!! My big ball python never sheds completely even with twice a day misting while she is in shed so I really doubt that you did anything wrong. I always have to help her by soaking her and then very easily pulling the old skin off. She doesn’t seem to mind as she doesn’t pull away or make any defensive actions while I am doing this.

Water
dude the reason their shed is comin off in chunks and pieces i because their to dry when mine shows that its gonna shed i fill up the bath tub like 2 inches and put him in. they will swim around and mabie go poo in the tub but then the skin will come off clean in 1 or 2 pieces i put him in one day after his eyes turn blue His butt hole will be red kind of but it is what i do and it works

Water HIs butt hole will be red? LOL are you speaking about when the cloaca opens up to release urine and feces? I don’t even soak my bp when it goes into shed anymore. It’s not needed. Proper heat and humidity all the time should equal an easy shed. I just up the humidity to 80% and stop handling and bothering her at all for the week as she sheds. No problems. Last shed was all in one piece(got to watch her shed, woohoo), and I expect the next one to be a perfect shed aswell. Another thing that causes bad sheds is stress. So yeah, if you notice anything in your husbandry or care that could be stressing your snake out, and you have bad sheds, it might be a reason to bad sheds.
