But iam gonna put my BP (once i get it) in a rubber maid so would just a UTH be fine?? because i heard rubbermaid holds more heat so i guess it would be fine.... will it??Thanx, Maleeh

Hot Enough?? Get a new thermometer. no UTH’s operate that low. Get a digital thermometer with probe.

Hot Enough?? Whatever type of thermometer you get, do NOT use the ones that change colors. They are very inaccurate.

Hot Enough?? Get the thermometers from Wal Mart or Target. They work real well.

Hot Enough?? hey roachey my UTH (reptile one) operates that low for some odd reason and its making me mad because then i need a heat lamp AND a UTH for the day and i hate it... this is my 20 gallon long(that I bought from a pet store) with roof ventilation that i put the UTH in. IS the tank ventilation a reason for a bad TEMP... i also have a digital thermometerMaleeh

Hot Enough?? If you have an open screen top, then yes, that could very well be where all your heat is going. Also not the best for humidity. I’d cover it up with some contact paper, or saran wrap, to keep heat and humidity in better. Just leave some bits of the corners uncovered for a bit of air flow.Or, if your heat pad has a temperature setting(low, med, hi), try turning it up a bit. You may have to just get a better heat pad, and a thermostat to keep the temperatures steady.
