Black light for night???
Hey... many of these so called night time bulbs bear a striking resemblance to a simple black light bulb. Can i get away with using a black light bulb for night time, do i even need to go to the trouble or can i just turn the lamp off? My room stays at about 73-35 at night. Would that be comfortable?

Black light for night??? Unless you’re trying to breed your snake, I wouldn’t keep the temperatures under 80 degrees in the tank. If the light is needed to keep temperatures up, then yes, a night glo bulb would work. Or an infrared bulb would be best, since bp’s supposedly can’t see the red spectrum of light, so it wouldn’t bother them at night. As for regular black lights, if you’re talking about those cheap party bulbs people buy, I wouldn’t trust it. They’re usually just painted glass, and over time, the paint wears out from use, thus causing the snake to be bothered by the light. If you’re going to use bulbs, I’d use reptile bulbs to be safe.

Black light for night??? I suggest that you use an under tank heater and not use lights at all.

Black light for night??? Well yeah, that is the best way, but sometimes it doesn’t do all the heating itself and lights are required. But yeah, if you can, use a UTH as your main source of heat.

Black light for night??? ya .. i have aheat pad in my tank, and have a "infared" lamp as well ... i put "dimmers" on both of the cords so i can control the temps. Works good. I leave them both on 24/7

Black light for night??? well i saw those ’moon’ lights for sale, but decided to get an infrared light, which is cool, its keepin it toasty in there for Diablo. By the way, are bp’s sometimes active during the day??? Cuz mine has been a bit active during the day, and of course at night...
