Ball Python’s are supposed to be thick. They’re heavy bodied boids. As long as you feed them a rodent the same thickness as their thickest point once a week(or once every 10-14 days if they’re feeding on medium or large rats), I don’t think you’ll have a problem with obesity or anything.

Well since no one else answered ya... That sounds like a perfectly fine girth to me! If the guy’s 4 1/2 feet long having the width of a coke can seems pretty normal. As long as its happy and active!
