 Which Rubbermaid Size??

The first two will be fine for all ball pythons, and the third one for a male.

You don’t need anything more than like 5" actually if you use a newspaper substrate.

Yes, ball pythons are quite comfortable as a ground dweller, and not so much a tree dweller. Sometimes if you offer them a climbing branch, they’ll stretch out and climb a bit, but it’s not too often. Atleast in my experiences. So yeah, height for a ball python isn’t as important as floor space.

I’m not sure. You could try that and see how it works. If it’s too many and it doesn’t hold heat and humidity good, you can just tape some holes up, lol.

The only thing I could do is take a guess. I haven’t gotten my rubbermaid yet. Looks like that’s gonna be on hold. My heat pad went haywire the other night and sent my temps up to 125 degrees. Luckily I got my snake out before it could cook her inside out. Now I have to find some money and get some flexwatt heat tape and a thermostat.

My guess would be to drill 10 holes in the front, 10 in the back, and 4 on each of the sides. Then set up the tank and run it for a bit. See how your humidity and heat hold up. If it’s too humid, drill some more holes. If it’s not humid enough and doesn’t hold the heat, seal some holes up. It’s always different. It’s basically trial and error. Good thing is it’s not expensive if you mess up. Just slap some tape or something on some holes if there are too many. If you happen to ruin the rubbermaid somehow, well it’s only another 5-10 bucks.
