Not your typical shed post
since i’ve had isabella she’s had a very hard time shedding. since keeping her humidity up is hard i took everyones suggestion and made a humidity hide. she’s using it and shedding bigger chunks now. but the problem is is that she can shed her belly and part of her sides well but she cant seem to shed her back. i have drift wood in there, a rock and a little tunnel that has edges (not sharp) on the inside. its almost like she doesn’t know how to get at her back, i even have the corn cob stuff in her aquarium. what should i do? this is the third shed where she hasn’t been able to get her back...

Not your typical shed post I don’t know but maybe you could try to help peel the skin of her back little by little but ask a vet first.

Not your typical shed post Our big ball python, Montie, hardly ever sheds completely. She has problems shedding across the back so the day of or the after she sheds we take her out and mist her, which she doesn’t care for, and then we carefully peel the loose skin off. She does not seem to mind us pulling the skin off as she just lays there and lets us. She tries to move out of the way of the mist. Some of her problem come from some scar tissue on her back which was there when we got her. She was a rescue and we know very little of her past.

Not your typical shed post you can also soak him/her for about 10-15 min but make sure the water stays warm and then put a towel over your hands and let your bp crawl through it and as it makes it way through gently apply pressure....i tried this on X’s last shed and it worked great...good luck

Not your typical shed post scale rot will only occur if your snake doesn’t have the chance to dry off. After soaking (i recomend soaking once a week) gently rub your snake dry with a towel. Bad shed might be due to dehydration and a soak will rehydrate your snake.
