20 Gallon For A Ball Python??
What lenght should a BP be when i switch it to something bigger that a 20 gallon long??Also i have aspen bedding and with a Rubbermaid (6in high by 12 inches in circumference) and its a circle and see through (close to see through) and its upside down with a hole in it for a hide so i was wondering if i should paint the hide black so the snake feels more secure and so the snake knows that its a hide?? and can i just paint the Rubbermaid or will it be bad for the snake (smell, texture, ect.)?? Maleeh

personaly i think the bp should be able to strech fully out plus some. And for the hide hole you can go to the pet store and get rock(hollow in side) with a entrance so the bp can peek out . i hope you no what i meen the rock is made for reptiles and its only $20.00. see ya!

20 Gallon For A Ball Python?? 3 feet by 2 feet is enough space for a full grown ball python. As for hides, just go to walmart or a garden store place, and get some clay flower pot bases and knock an entrance hole in the side with a hammer. They’re perfect for ball pythons, since they like low, snug fitting hides. The hides you can get from pet stores are junk.Go HERE to read up on correct hide spots for snakes. And I’d advise you not paint a rubbermaid container. Too many complications can arise. I’d just get the clay pot bottoms. They’re probably the best hides you could use, and are cheap. I picked up 4 of them(different sizes) for a dollar each at Walmart. Just pick some that look just big enough for your snake to coil up into tightly.

20 Gallon For A Ball Python?? Opinions will vary on this one, however I would say 42in. would be the maximum size that should be kept in a 20ga. If you can find a 40ga. breeder tank, that should be sufficient for the rest of it’s life.

20 Gallon For A Ball Python?? I believe a 40 gal breeder and a 30 gal breeder have the same floor space, The 40 gal is just a little taller.......I keep some of my Ball pythons in 30 gal breeders.

20 Gallon For A Ball Python?? Pet store rocks are junk because you can get something just as good or better for like less than a dollar.

20 Gallon For A Ball Python?? Not to mention those pet store hides are usually too tall or big for a snake. Most snakes(atleast BP’s) like low, snug fitting hiding spots. That’s why I, and others, will recommend the clay flower pot bases. I know if I had a growing snake, I’d rather buy a bunch of different sized flower pot bases for 6 dollars, rather than dropping 10-20 dollars for one hide because it’s fancy looking.

20 Gallon For A Ball Python?? I have no clue. I’d just get a rubbermaid container of equal size. It’s just easier and cheaper.

20 Gallon For A Ball Python?? Well of course they’ll use it. A hide is a hide, right? But I’m just saying they might be less stressed out with the small low tight fitting hides.

20 Gallon For A Ball Python?? Almost 20 years old, but I can handle myself as a much more mature person. Which is more than I can say for you.Where did I say you’re doing "everything" wrong? All I said was I prefer to use the clay pot bottoms, as they are low and snug, which is what ball pythons like. I didn’t say you’re horrible and are doing everything wrong. I don’t know where you got that from. All I’m saying is I’d rather pay 6 bucks for a bunch of different sized clay pot hides and be set for a long time, rather than dish out 10-20 dollars for ONE hide, and have to buy multiples down the road. It’s a lot of money, and they’re not exactly built for a ball pythons security needs. Use what you wish. I don’t care. I was simply stating my opinion. I’m sorry you had to take what I said way out of context and start a heated argument for no reason. Have a good weekend.
