 Is It Tooooooo Hot??
For my ball python (soon to get) iam running test for temp and humidity and i was wondering if 96.6 degrees HOT spot and 80 degrees cold spot and 59% humidity is okay for my ball python.Maleeh

I like the warm side of my BP’s tank to be 90 degrees....96 is a little to warm in my opinion but Im sure someone will say its ok!!

A good rule of thumb is to keep the hot side temperatures between 90-95 and cool side temperatures between 80-85. Your humidity is good though. Just need to drop the warm side a bit. Just get a thermostat and turn the temp down a bit, or raise your tank up a bit.

okay it was 96.6 degress with my UTH and HEat Lamp for the day iam just gonna use heatlamp and at night iam gonna use UTH... I THINK
whats a good way to raise the humidtity my humistity is drooping now its at 45% and i have a blanket over the top of the cage.Maleeh

okay i went to school and when i got back it was 86.1 Degrees F and 60% humidity... I just have on a UTH and the temp. was 86.1 and i have a Zoo Med UTH and i was wondering if there’s any way of raising that up to 90 Degrees F. or whats a hotter UTH that i should get or should i just leave it at 86.1 Degrees F.??

Where are you measuring the temps?I suggest measuring them inside of the hide that is on top of the heat source. Zoo med UTH’s run at 130+..."surface" temp of mine (through one sheet of newspaper and inside a flower pot base) was 145ish. Inside the cage (rubbermaid...several layers of newspaper) w/o thermostat was 120ish.

1st of all i have one 5 gallon Zoomed UTH (gettin bigger on tommorow) and on the heat pad (throught the glass) it was 110 but with aspen substrate it was 92 Degrees F. and iam measuring with a DIGITAL thermometer
