Frozen is better then live? 
Yeah, even if it was a rat pinky, that’s still pretty small for even a hatchling I’d think. Feed your bp one rodent that’s the same size of his thickest part. Depending on how old your baby is, I’d say he could take anywhere from a weaned mouse to a rat pup.As for feeding live or frozen, for new snake owners who might not know the best techniques to keep live feeding a safe practice, I’d suggest prekilled or frozen thawed. Your bp might not take prekilled or frozen thawed right away though, depending on what he was eating prior to coming into your care. Hope that helps.
