Winter time and feeding habits It depends on age and sex or the animal.

Winter time and feeding habits I have noticed that balls less than two years old don’t change their eating habits any during the winter months. After two they will go off feed for several weeks to several months at the time. My oldest, age unknown, is 54 inches long and she stops eating around the end of October or the first of November and won’t eat again until March. I offer her food ever couple weeks or so but she refuses it.

Winter time and feeding habits A person I know (she might start coming here soon) has a ball python that she found in the middle of the road, and its about 2 ft. long. It will only eat about every 6 weeks. But its perfectly healthy other than that, I guess it really stressed him out when he was outside in the cold.

Winter time and feeding habits Now that would be a rescue! I keep expecting to find an escaped or released exotic when someone calls me to remove a snake from their property but I haven’t yet.

Winter time and feeding habits Yea, I think that is so awesome. And fortunately she had experience with snakes, so she knew what to do with it. SHe also has a bearded dragon.

Winter time and feeding habits Out of the 25 ball pythons I have. I got maybe 4 or 5 that stop eating. Sadly one of them is my Mojave ball. Who is not even a year old yet. If your house gets real cool at night in the winter i feel this is what makes them go off feed. Everyone double check your cage temps with a reliable thermometer.(A digital one or a temp gun)

Winter time and feeding habits As long as he is a proven eater and you can keep the cage warm go ahead and buy him.
