Where Do You Measure Humidity?? Congrats on the new addition! The temps. and humidity should be measured on the substrate where the snake lives. Just put your thermostat/hydrometer directly on the surface of the substrate. The actual temps. and humidity can vary greatly in the enclosure, so it is best to measure them on the surface of the substrate where your snake will be spending most of its time. You should probably wait at least a few days to a week before handling/feeding in order to let the snake adjust to it’s new home without any additional stress. Feed it a rat that is the same diameter as the widest part of the snake. Use tongs or forceps, and wiggle it in front of his face to stimulate him into striking when switching to frozen thawed.

Where Do You Measure Humidity?? Probably a weanling rat or a small adult rat, but I haven’t ever measured there diameter to be sure.LOL. To raise humidity, cover 2/3 of tank top and pour water in one spot onto the substrate on the warm side, or mist occasionally with a spray bottle.
