Bathroom humidifier you may think this is a little strange or even dumb but it worked...when X was in shed i took him into the bathroom set him on the counter and turned my shower on as hot as it would go which made the room really hot and humid and he seemed to like it b/c he was completely streched out with his head up tasting the air( he was repeatedly sticking out his tongue, so i guess tasting the air works) so if anyone else has a snake in shed this could be another alternative

Bathroom humidifier It’s neither strange nor dumb. It’s impractical for the most part, but good while it lasts. I know of a few people who bring their snakes into the bathroom when they shower for the same reason. Besides helping with shedding, it’s good for their respiratory system, better than misting, so what you did was great--if only you could do that 24/7.

Bathroom humidifier i cant believe what you just wrote! bp’s should have a humidity of 70%ish 60-80% is a good area. however the bathroom would be looking at a humidity of 90-100%, looking to be closer to 100% and to keep a bp in this 24/7 would lead to respitory PROBLEMS.

Bathroom humidifier No one is going to run hot water in a bathroom 24/7. You have to use common sense. A bathroom is a much better place to place your boid than in an open room, if you’re in the northern part of the country, where winter zaps all the humidity in the house. Lack of humidity will kill them. It’s much easier to maintain proper humidity in a small room where you can run water and elevate the humidity than to house it in an open area, with cold drafts, dry air and cool temps.

Bathroom humidifier Even in the south (South Carolina) it is hard to keep the humidity up. My snake room is my sons old room and I have to run a humidifier 24/7 in there during the winter and there are some days I still have trouble keeping the humidity around 55%. I don’t have to run the humidifier at all during the summer.

Bathroom humidifier In the event of a power outage, unless your bp was stuck with no heat source for days on end, and/or kept at temperatures below 75 degrees for a long period of time, the snake most likely won’t die. As for dying from low humidity...I’d bet you’d have to keep your bp at low humidity for a good week or so before it caused any health problems.
