Plz help so upsettin!!!
i normally keep corns but rescued a python bout a wk ago n totally fell in love tonite i ended up with another poor python it was in a 1 1/2ft fish tank it smelt really foisty n was damp where the python was laid it had been kept warm by a normal household lamp pushed against the side of the tank that had burnt the plastic round top of the tank n there was nothing else in there not even a water bowl....i also noticed wen i got it home bad skin underneath on her stomach some of it looks like whitish dry damaged skin but other bits r pinky brown its tummy had also all turned pink i gave her a bath immediately n the full pink colourin has gone altho shes kept the bad pinky brown patches of wat looks like dead scales
iv jst read on here about a ball python wit a pink stomach apperently this can be normal but the rest doesnt sound too good please if n e 1 can help or can give n e advice please get in touch
much appreciated

Plz help so upsettin!!! If you could post a picture of your snakes it would be helpful to us to exactly understand whats going on. The best I can tell you right now is that the snake has most likely gotten burned. Please post pics so we can determine a more accurate diagnoses of what might be wrong with your python. Make sure your snakes are in quarantine too. If I were you I would take the snake to a vet immediately if it is having any problems other than dead looking scales. When snakes aren’t cared for properly they can become host to all kinds of infections and diseases. Post pics and think about taking it to a vet so that it can get the help that it needs. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful as I have never personally had to deal with something along the lines of your situation.

I agree with Newby, pics would help a lot.
Poor snake should really see a vet. It was good of you to rescue it.

Thank u all!!
she is ready for a shed but shes got 2 pink spots iv spoke to a vet n she sed to keep a close eye on her because the pinkness has gone off her tummy since her bath n she seems to be feelin much better....also was feedin day at r house yesterday n she ate 2 mice !!yey!! she seems more lively today n seems really fit n healthy apart frm the 2 pink spots n bits of dry patches on her tummy.
i think i will giv her couple more days in quarentine n if doesnt worsen will put it dwn to a bad shed wen wit that bloke, needin to shed n possible burns but hopefully fingers crossed she will recover beautifully if not n dry skin or pink spots worsen she will be to vets!
thank you all so much for ur feedback its nice to know wen i begin to panic that there r ppl out their that can help n so glad i found this website i feel less alone caring for my reptiles now oxxxxo

Thank u all!! Great to hear if you could please keep the snake in quarantine longer that would be great. Most people keep thier snakes in quarantine for at least 60 days. I personally keep mine in quarantine for 4 months in a seperate room from the other snakes. This reduces the risk that your other snakes will get an infection or mites or what have you from the new arrival. Yeah after a few sheds it sounds like your new snake will heal up just nicely.

Thank u all!! shes shed IN FULL yey!! the bad bits of skin have come off altho u can see where they were n it is still abit dry, keepin her in quarentine as she is eatin but regurgatatin her food about 3 times b4 she keeps it down i dnt no if this is sum sort of way of her eatin because she also throws it round the tank n rags it but i have figured aslong as shes eatin, looks healthy,is shedding ok n is alert then who am i to tell her not to play wit her food lol i wont be puttin her with my other ball python as there both different sex n my male is about aug 09 where as she looks more like nov08 so there is quite a difference in size
if n e 1 has n e info on how shes eatin that wud be great either jst to reasure me or to tell me im an idiot n get her to the vets lol

Thank u all!! You may want to go ahead and have a vet check her out for parasites or sickness. That is alot of regurgitation. How long are you waiting after each regurge before feeding again?

shes eatin every wk normally on a sun and shes on lrge mice thort of maybe changin size it doesnt go fully dwn wen she brings it back its bum is still stickin out dnt no if that makes a difference? n she ate 1 sideways 2 wk ago but she had squashed it n (i no this is awfull) but popped it, it does take her awhile to eat but it takes my other ball awhile too so thort it was just ball pythons that ate slow till i saw her bring it bak this wk.....think ur rite tho she is a rescue case n she does need a gud check over by a vet its jst findin a gud reptile vet near by my friend is doin her reptile course but isnt fully qualified yet so iv been usin her she teaches vetrinary classes but think i need sum1 wit plenty of experience for this 1.
