I.D. Dead snake. Warning Graphic Pics

Ok so I was outside this morning smoking a cigarette like I always do and I notice my 4 dogs playing with something. I go over only to find they had killed a snake and ripped it in half. It was a non-venomous snake as I took the head part of the body and opened its mouth. I beleive the snake might be some sort of water snake here in florida but I have never seen one with these colors. It is black, brown, and yellow. They are crossbands on the snake. This snake is around 2-3 feet and about 1-1.5 inch thick. The underside was relativly clean looking. Ill post pics below but be warned that they are graphic.

Here is the bottom half of the snake.

Here is the bottom of the snake.

Another underside pic

Here is the top side pattern.

Here is the head.

Side pic of the head.

If anyone knows what this snake might be please let me know. I have lived here in Fl for a long time and never have seen one that looks like this.

It’s just a water snake.

I don’t know about the Florida "local" variety...but it looks just like the Northern Water Snakes and Lake Erie Water Snakes we have up here in Ohio.

Ok that is what I thought it would be. I wasn’t sure though because water snakes here in FL arent that color normally. They are generally brown or greenish. That was the first time I have seen one that color here in FL. Thanks for the reply.

Also looks like the eastern Fox snake i have up here. My water snakes are more grey than dark.

Just match the coloration to snakes in your area on DNR site and youll have your answer.
