Hey, im back and have a rat question :)

Sm rats are fine for adult ball pythons for life. Just cause they cant eat larger prey dont mean they should. The more you feed the faster your getting closer to a feed strike.

I feed large meals to breeding females only other than that they get sm rat once every 7 days.

yeah, i was thinking that, just when i went to the shop today to pick up a uv lamp for my terrapin i realised i had no rats left and they only had a med rat, i feed a small rat every week but i was just wondering if this medium rat would be ok until i can get a small one again...he’s veryyy hungry haha

Hey, im back and have a rat question :)

a medium seems a little big, give him a large mouse it’ll hold him off till u can get a small rat.

Hey, im back and have a rat question :)

You should be able to feed a 4ft ball python a med no problem. My sister feeds her 4ft male med from time to time and he gets them down just fine. Just make sure its pre-killed first or watch to make sure he eats it without getting bitten if you need to feed live. As long as it’s the same size around or smaller than the thickest part of his body you shouldn’t need to be worried.
