?? i was wondering. ive had my snake for 4 days now. the first night i left my heat lamp on.2nd night i was told to shut it off my room is 65 degrees. and at night it gets 65 in the cage with the heat pad. should i put another heat pad in it right next to the 1 i have. i have 3 thermometers (sticky ones ) in the cage. i have 40 degree heat lamp bulb. the one thermometer (on the inside of the cage top middle says 80). the one on the bottom left by the hot side is 76(the thermometer is on the out side on the tank.). i have a heat pad on that side. the one on the top midde which is on the out side of the tank says 76 to. My snake stays inthe water i dont know why.it comes out every once in a while.

?? It sounds like you have some work still...I would actually stick to one heat pad at least on the floor..maybe have one on the wall of the cage too. In this case you might want to get a night bulb (infrared) because you cannot keep white light on at all times. Maybe you should get a space heater for the room the snake is in because 65 is too cold. You could even shut the snake in the bathroom at night and let the shower run with the hot water for a while and it will hold heat and humidity in the room if you leave the door closed. I have had to do this with snakes i was quarantining since they were not going in my controlled snake room.

??
o ok. is my snake fine now.i got a stronger light bulb. 60 watt from the pet store. and i put another heat pad in. not really on the cold side by the water tank. i put a hidding spot on the cold side. and 2 more on the hot side.the snake now tends to stay on the cold side at night i put a towl on top of the cage to prevent the heat from escaping. it now stay at 81-83 at night time. on the warm side. during they day the warm side gets to 87-89 i think its doing pretty good now. it stays out of the water alot and i am soo happy for it. so any ways i had a question what is humidity how do you control it. how do you watch it? i only have a heat pad and heat lamp. ttyl
