THats aswEM! 5 BALL PYTHONS. Good luck with them. how big are they? Thats cool i could learn alot from you. are they all in the same cages? any way my ball python is now doing good. i put a 60 wat light bulb(from a 40 wat) and put another heat pad in there. the tempature raised from 76 to 87. its fine now i put a few hiding spots in the cage 3. its out of the water. im going to see how it does tonight when i shut the heat lamp off. im hoping that the cage tempature will only go down a few degreese from 87 to 77 would that be good?

CHAT ZONE. I have two females in one cage, two males in another cage and one in a cage by itself. It sounds like you are starting out well but see if you can get thee daytime temps to about 90 and the night time temps in the mid 80’s. Some will say that 95 is better for a ball python but I have other snakes in the same room that do need it as hot as ball pythons so I try to keep the room temp around 85 to 87 and use under tank heaters for spot heating in the cages. I use liquid filled thermometers that you can buy in the fish section at walmart. Since I use so many of them they are more cost effective than digital ones and the liquid filled ones are just as accurate. I did get a digital thermometer for Christmas and am using that one in the snake room. Good luck with your snake.

aswem. how old are your snakeS? are u planning on breeding them? you shou;d put a female with a male to see if they breed.(if there old enough). my snake cage temps are fine finnaly. they were cold but i got a higher watt light bulb 60 and another heat pad so now i have 2 heat pads. and at night it usualy stay at 81-83(when i turn heat lamp off at night) you are suppose to do that right? and during they day it stays at 86-89 some times 90. its weird how it can stay warm at night with out the heat lamp on becuase of the 2 heating pads but dirring the day the cage does not get as hot as i excpected 90-94.hmm..weird.. but the snake is doing pretty good. the only thing is it needs to eat i bought the mouse about 3 days ago and its alive i have been feeding it. i put the mouse in the snake cage(about 15 minutes) it didnt eat. it was suppose to eat the next day so i put it in that day. about 10 min didnt eat it. can u please help me with the feeding proccess. how long do i keep the mouse in the cage? do i feed it at night only? this would be the eigth day it hasnt eatin..(well acording to the pet shop) THEY BETTER NOT BE LYING!!!.lol..so please explain to me the ball python eating process (as much as you know about it.) any ways A/S/L?

CHAT ZONE. Hey i have four BP and they are all in the process of breeding. I would like to say that you sure are excited about your new snake. i just hope you keep up the hype. BP are a great beg. snake and they are pretty easy to keep. In response to your feeding question? Every snake has its best time to eat. Some people feed at night some whenever and some not too often at all. The key is that you must remember that if the snake is not eating there is usually three major causes: 1. Stress (new habitat, new place, high traffic area.) 2. Shedding ( Even-though some will eat during this time.) 3. Not Hungry ( usually the case.)Remember these snake can go for a very long time without eating. i have not fed my BP since Oct. Granted this is because i am setting them up for breeding but the best advice i can give you is try once a week, FEED DEAD OR FROZEN and do not worry if the snake does not eat much in the beginning, just remember a move to a new place is a very stressful for BP who are stressed out pretty easy. Any other questions just let me know.....
