 Some questions again

sorry for keep asking questions.. just wanna make sure i dont harm my lil snake.

1. How often should you wash the tank? and when you do, is it ok to use dish washer solution to do so?

2. How often should you play with your snake? is too much bad for the snake?

3. And why does my snake insist on staying in the cold side?? i got the temps right and the humity right... but she keeps on staying in the cold side. could it be cause the light from the heat lamp makes her shy?

4. o yeah... is it normal for a snake hissing sound to sound not that threatening? when mine hisses it sounds kinda soft.
only hissed at me 3 times :p never bit me though.

5. ahh another questions um... does designing your tank with fake leaves and other fake plants help the snake feel at home? or could the snake care less. cause my tank looks like a desert just without the sand.

6. Last one!! Is it ok to wet the ground with water to raise the humity? or is misting a better way. And what exactly is misting? just spraying mist of water everywhere in the tank? I use natural cypress mulch for the ground also.

thanks a bunch again

 Some questions again

HEy whats up i just got a ball python Also. i know some of the answers i will try to help you out.
1. I DOnt know...lol
2.you shouldnt play with it to much.. especially when u first get it. the ball python is instictively afraid of humans. when u start to handle ure snake more and more they will get to know you better and like you better. you should only handdle it about 10-15 minutes at a time. it gets cold when you take it out of the cage. so in about 15 minutes you should put him back in to warm up.
3. I dont know my snake that i just got stays on the cool side. i have the temps right to. i put in a lot of new hiding spots in my tank one on the cool side and it likes to stay on that i have to on the other side. if you would like i can take a picture of my cage. and send it to you over aim or email or some thing my aim is djm4life666
4.............
5.i think putting fake leaves in the snakes cage is pretty good. ya if it looks like a desert i would spice it up more. but make sure you get the plant and climbinb stuff at a pet stores if you get them from out side they may have mites on them.
6.i wouldn not wet the ground for the snake. if the snake wants to be wet i think it will go in the water bowl. wetting the ground is kinda bad. what if the snake wants to be in a dry place. i dont know though.

Well good luck A/S/L?

 Some questions again

1) I change the newspaper every defecation. Totally clean the cage with a 1:8 bleach to water solution once a month.
2) I handle all my animals once every 1-3 weeks, they are very docile.
3) Maybe the hot side is to hot. I would avoid any heat source that emits "white" light (a lightbulb, "day" bulbs, etc) try using a CHE or a reptile red/blue bulb if you like lamps or use a heat pad or radiant heat panel.
4) imma leave that to someone else
5) IMO the snake does not care. As long as it has good hides, water, heat, room to move, and food it doesn’t matter. BUT fake plants and leaves make it more hidden looking and might make it not as scared when moving around the cage.
6) I think misting would be better because wet substrate is generally bad. And you have the definition of misting right.
