Help!!! My Ball Python won’t eat!!

Hi Im new to this forum but I had to get involved... I have a question that needs an urgent answer... I have a 2 1/2 - 3yr old Ball Python she has always been a good eater however recently she has been refusing her meals (she usually eats adult medium frozen rats) she has never eaten live. However right before her "Hunger-Strike" my husband tried to feed her a rat that he had bought and "killed" himself.. however after placing the "dead" rat into the cage and walking away he returned mins later to find the rat alive and running about the cage and my lovely "Nahla" scared rolled into a ball in the corner. Never uncoiling until being placed back into her enclosure and now she won’t eat we have taken her to a vet after the first missed meal but he found nothing and said she was picky and would eat when hungry enough well its now been 2months she looks healthy and shed but never eats what’s wrong.. what should we do.

Help!!! My Ball Python won’t eat!!

They stop eating for various reason.

Seasonal - Sexual Maturity - Fasting to catch up when over fed - Husbandry issues etc

Given she is 2 and a half I would assume she has a good body weight and is healthy, make sure your husbandry is on spot, monitor her and make sure she is well hydrated and wait it out.

Given he age and the fact that she stop eating I would bet my money on the fact that she wants to breed, give her time don’t over stress about it and sooner or late she will resume feeding.

I had females fasting 6 months, 9 months without any problems, remember they are very fuel efficient
