 Im geting a ball python in february!!!

im geting a 1 1/2 foot ball python so i need to know what yall keep your BPs on? would sand work or what

NO FLAMING im asking Qs to make shour i dont mess up thanks tegu girl

i keep my balls on bark chips works for me eays to clean and cheap sand is bad for snakes cann get in to there nose witch will coz problem and in ventrals scales witch will coz probs aswell on the other hand make sure u get temps humidity right and you cant go rong if you need more help send me a msg and al give you my msn addy

ps what size of viv you going to use ? for 1 1/2 ff i would say no bigger than 2 ft viv temps surface temps one end should b around 80 to 90 with a good air temp around 77 to 80 and cooler temps at the other hope this helps

I use newspaper...aspen is not bad but i prefer a one piece substrate. You should not feed on any nind of chips or shavings. Carpet is also good and the 40 will be perfect for you ball python. You can never have too big for the snake if you can heat it will and keep great conditions...you ust need to offer secure hides. The larger the cage, the more hides you need in both the warm and cool ends.

I suggest you read some caresheets made by breeders, judging by "would sand work or what" you should do more indidvidual research before asking more questions.

I would also keep the warm side between 90-95 degrees and the cool side around 85....The temps mentioned by duggie are not right!!
