i wait 24 hours
like if i feed it at 5 at night then i wait till 5 at night the next day to hold

That question is not really easy to answer. It depends on the meal size. I would wait minimum a day but some larger meals I would easily wait over 3 days. feed small meals until you gain experience with snakes.
