 WHAT TO PUT IN My cage
MY cage looks pretty crappy. i dont know what to put in it SHOULD I PUT PLANTS AND STUFF? IT HAS 1 hide on the warm side 1 hide on the cool side and on the cool side it has the water dish. and in the middle theres a hide he never uses. should i take it out and replace it with a new1? also the aspen Wood i use looks horrible its like gold. i dont have any plants in my cage (fake vines) and my cage doesnt look any thing like a (rain forrest) i dont have any sticks in there. is a ten gallon tank to small? thats what i have in there its kinda Cramed. i wanna pimp my tank.(lol)

Yeah 10 gallons probably is a bit cramped. Maybe move up to a 20 gallon or 30 gallon. Or better yet, the rubbermaid equivalent of those tanks.As for adding stuff to make it look good, just remember that anything aesthetic is purely for you, as the snake won’t care what it’s tank looks like. As long as they have secure hides, proper heating, and food, they’re fine. And remember, the more stuff you add in the tank, the more you have to clean every month or two when you clean out the tank.

*LOL* Pelota said it all when he said that the more you put in a cage the more you have to clean. When i first started with snakes I put lots of stuff in mine because it looked good. After a few cages cleanings, I have two hides, one water dish and one rough rock to aid in shedding. I
did put a shed deer antler in a couple cages.

Honestly, I think 10 gallon is small for any age ball python older than a few months. At 7 months, which is the same age as my bp, I’d definitely be upgrading the cage. My bp is in a 20 gallon and is cramped.As for rubbermaids, they’re just storage containers you can buy at walmart or any other store like that. You know, the stuff people use to store towels or clothing or junk when they want to straighten a closet out. They come in all sorts of sizes perfect for keeping snakes in. Just buy a size that’s perfect for your ball python, drill some holes in the sides for air, add your hides and substrate, add heat, and you’re done. They’re much cheaper than dishing out the bucks for a glass tank, and they’re lighter and easier to clean. Plus they’re known to hold heat and humidity better, since plastic is a better insulator than glass usually.

lol i think no snake sould be in a 10 gallon unless its a gater snake or somthing and i still keep my garter snake in a 20L just for decor

yup. they gave me wrong size tank. wrong heat pads wrong light bulb wattage. wrong every thing it was crazy i had to pay so much cuz of them. had to keep rrebuying stuff
