Life span?

Life span?
They can live up to 30-40 years in captivity. The oldest ball python in captivity was something like 48 years old. So yeah, they’re definitely a big commitment. That’s why it pains me to see so many people just walking into a pet store and walking out with a snake like a ball python. They’re definitely not the best spur of the moment type pet.

Thanks. I was offered a 15 year old ball python but my husband still says no way (he’s chicken of snakes) Really sad because it’s a really sweet snake at about 3 1/2-4’ long. I just thought 15 years was old. It’s sad after that long to get tired of your pet. I’ll let ya know if he changes his mind and we bring it home.

Wow that would be cool if your husband would get over his fear of snakes, then you can talk on the snake forums too. Tell him Ball Pythons are great! I have 2 and about to get a 4 ft. one!
They have never bitten or tried to bite me, and mine have always eaten.

Yea I really would like to bring "him" home. He was really sweet and beautiful! My son is starting to nag me for it today so I told him I’m not the one you need to ask that if it were up to me we would already have it. So he said he was gonna start nagging his dad tonight. Kids are so funny!

My Mom was freaking out when she heard me and my dad were gonna buy snakes. My dad had 2 Bp’s but.....LONG STORY......anyways we got the snakes and now my mom goes insane when i take it out of the cage LOL.
