 Spider ball

hey, I was just wondering what this whole spider gene thing is all about, I mean I know what it looks nice and its nice and all but what is up with this wobble thing in the head and flipping over and all that stuff.... I’d like to read you guy’s opinions and experiences on it, thanks!!

another reason why I wanna know about this is because I am looking into buying a bumblebee and well I want to know about it before i get it.

It is just something they are prone to. Some get it so bad it hinders their ability to eat, while others have it less noticeable. But most, if not all, get it.

Hold a spider first. Then make your choice.

Some are trainwrecks, some arent bad. Some don’t develope it til later in life.... some just have a slight head tilt, or you will only notice it when just about to feed, or its really roaming at night, and still, it may not be that bad.

Just ask whom you are buying from if it is showing anything. I have a spide rthat wobbles minorly. One of his babies did a little head shake, and new owner says he still does it, bu tnot a trainwreck. My bee, havent noticed anything yet, but I bet he could do it very minorly.

If you want to work with th espider morph, it’s something you have to know about and be able to deal with. If any of my spiders turn into trainwrecks, they are done breeding. But anything with the spider gene visible can have some wobbles- be it severe, or minor, who knows.

I seen some vids of trainwrecks, and they look horrible. However, they eat fine. Just ask yourself if your spider gets bad, would you still be satisfied with him?

I love spiders and spider combos, so I am working with them. I just pick ones that sellers say they dont see severe wobbling from ( i bought my bee from an online pal so i know i could trust him) and simply hope for the best in terms of breeding.

There are other morphs that have defects too, so its good to gather info liek this b4 purchasing and being surprised ( thats what happened with my spider)

it just comes down to preference, i hear people wont work with them because of it, but then laugh when I ask if other morphs wobble b/c of stuff I read about them.

good luck!

good info bro!!!, and well i think ill hold off on the whole spider thing, i really don’t think it’ll bother me if my spidey would wobble, but then again like i said ill hold off on it lol.... for now im thinking of a Lesser Platinum and a mojave, most likely the lesser.... but if possible both!

you guys have any info on these!?..... oh yeah, if i dont find a lesser id just go with a butter since its practicly the same....

Lessers and mojos are both very nice. I haven’t heard of anything commonly wrong with them.

While I love mojos, i like lessers just a smidge more, just personal preference. they can have a lot of color! But the same can be said about some mojos.

I am sure one will call out to you more when the time comes, if a spider ball didnt already - or if you can get all 3, but then you better buy me something...LOL ;)

Sure no problem !

She’s super social. If i walk up to the tank she’ll come out of her hide right up to the glass. She’s always checking out the camera too so i’m always having to back up to take pics lol. I’d get a spider anyways !!
She was my dream snake and still is !

proven breeders does indeed mean they sired a clutched, or produced a clutch.

Are all snakes able to breed? No- some can be sterile for some reason- just like some humans can be sterile/infertile. Some can be poor breeders as well- just not having any interest.

Chances are, a snake will breed, but I would not expect it to always hold true.

3rd time could be a charm? I bred my cinny, didnt even see any locks. I am not saying he is infertile, he actually is producing sperm plugs. He could end up being an example of a poor breeder, but I didnt try any tricks- or he could have locked and I didnt see.

Did that guy see the pied lock?

( sorry its going a bit OT)
