i have large snakes- 2500+ grams. I have never fed large rats on a steady occasion= i pawned off breeder soft furs on her- 100 gram rodents, but never constantly. It also depends on what weight you consider the med or large rats. I pawned off breeder soft furs to my 2k+ girls that weighed 100 grams- but never on a constant basis. 65 gramsish i what i usually give per week for an adult snake. Now, if you feed bigger then needed meals- the snake can fast to regulate his weight. I am not sure why you have to feed in a brown bag- but is therea chance he really isnt hungry- thats why he wont eat- but then ends up eating if in th ebag b/c rodent annoys him? Now, I don’t know this snake mind you- so there may be a reason he has to eat in the bag...so if there is a reason then excuse my questioning ;) I wouldnt go to mice. the snake may not switch back to mice- or he ay go back to onlny wanting mice- and feeding multiple rodents a meal will get annoying- and prolly cost more. I would go with a small rat- arond 50 grams. If that is all you give him-he may not fast as much, or he may eat every week due to being hungrey and not so full. but to simpkly answer your question- you can feed mulitples of rodents to equal the size meal you want. |

I recently tried one of mine on a medium rat and he got bit. Last time I will do that. I feel you there, with the picky eater. I have a female that will only eat rat chubs. Nothing bigger, nothing smaller. I have a stock in the freezer for when she decides that she wants to eat frozen, but she mostly just wants live. She’s getting to the point where she may need 3 at a time. |
