 Question about cutting eggs

Ok today is day 57 for my eggs and my question is this, do I cut them or wait for at least 1 of them to pip? I have heard it both ways, they never have been plump like when laid, but I can candle them and still see veins in the top part, they are getting softer, color is the same, no bad smell and no mold. I am pretty sure I saw some movement in one of them yesterday. Now I don’t know how to cut them so if it comes to that I will take them to my reptile guy and have him tech me how to do it. I just want to know what other opinions are and why..........I am good with waiting till at least 1 pips or day 60. What do you think please?

 Question about cutting eggs

i cut day 55, sometimes sooner. i let my first one pip the very first time. You really can go either route Trish- its up to you.

I, however, cut them in th eslim chance something is wrong and snake cant get out ( their egg tooth broke or somethinbg) if th ebaby cant get out of theegg- it will eventually die( by drowning).

I use a sharp exacto. I pinch the egg- and get a littl ewhole. Pinching the egg- i do this as my initial cut to ensure i aint jabbing a baby or slicing a baby. You can grab a fold from the dimpled eggs and use that. I have papertowels handy because the egg will most likely ooze- I push a little bit of th eooze out and wipe it up. You dont have to- chances are some is gonna come out when you are opening th espot- so I just get some out for easier cutting. I then just open the egg a little- ideally, I go for flaps- doa V shape, so its cut, but you can let the egg shell still cover the whole for privacy ( of course, yes, I am glaring in the egg seeing what I got...lol. Then you wait for them to come out. SOmetimes they poke heads out, sometimes practically out, but then next i look they go back in. I remove babies as they come out. Sometimes you will get a pest that goes around bugging other snakes anthey come out too.

BUT have a small container ( by small- i mean snake will fit, but wont move around much) in case any of them come out with the egg sac still attached Sometimes they come out alittl esoon ( but at day55-60- its pretty darn slose to when they should be coming out) and still have some to obsorb. If its a little- all you have to do is put the snake in the small tub with a littl ewater. I put them back in the incubator in th etupperware.

I have had babies come out with a bit of th esac left and had no issues.

Also0- when you look at the babies- there will be a littl e hint of where the sac was attached. Dont be alarmed by it- i had a baby look as if it wa s a little cut- but it healed up.

So, then you jsut have to wait til they shed and offer the first meal!!

So close- cant wait to see what you got! Next thursday I am cutting my cinny clutch!
