New pics of Kira and her pretty pattern

I had Kira out today since she ate a few days ago and seems to be settling in nicely. She pretended to be a bracelet and I had fun taking pictures of her. She has nice blushing and a pretty pattern for a normal and some people have told me she is a dinker. I’m going to buy my first morph in a few weeks so that when they are old enough I can breed them. With the heart on her side and spade on her head she probably should have had a playing card related name, but with her Star Trek insignia, maybe I should have called her Uhura. Of course, Kira is a Star Trek name too (though I got it from a book called We the Living, not Trek) so I suppose it works.

Her pretty face:

Her "spade" and "heart"

Close up of her Star Trek insignia:

Her underbelly

"O"s on her back

As a piece of fashion jewelry:

A lot of people have suggested going with a Yellowbelly. What do y’all think? I’m definitely going with at least something co-dominant.

What traits in her do you see that look like Jungle? I’m still learning. The traits I see on her that I find interesting are that she has Os on her back, nice blushing, both along her sides and in the dark brown of her back, she has flames and a high yellow coloring, especially down near her belly. She also has a lot of splashes of white. Every time I look at her I find another interesting feature.

Jungles can have the circly patterns in their backs. I seen jungles that were extreme, and ones that were just little things. Thing is- as far as I know- jungles are not genetic- they just pop up now and again.

I will state tho- i have snakes that have the circles on the back. It dont necisarily mean there is something going on with the snake. However, only way to know is breed it, and then breed a son back to her.

Thanks. Yeah, I’m really curious so that is my plan. I wanted so badly to breed her to the old normal male that I had to give up after Katrina because since I can’t have him, I wanted one of his offspring so badly. However, his current family is against breeding animals and said not. So, I may buy a male of my own at Repticon later this month, probably a yellowbelly. Of course, I’m two years away from being able to breed her and then I’ll have to wait again for her son to grow up. This hobby requires an awful lot of patience.

Susan, I really doubt it’s yellowbelly, either. I’m not trying to be rude, but you’re new to morphs, normals can be very unique in their own right, but the bottom line is, you bought it as a normal from a pet store. These should ALWAYS be considered normal unless proven otherwise by breeding. There’s just too many "dinker" ball pythons out there to name them all, especially since it’s like lottery to find a dinker whose unique look is actually genetic. I would post most of the pictures on the kingsnake forum, because the members there are largely ball python breeders, even Kevin from NERD and a lot of big name breeders post there, you really should start relying on them more than those here who have little to none REAL genetic experience.

Reflex, I didn’t say I thought she was a yellowbelly. I said that I was going to *buy* a yellowbelly at Repticon at the end of this month.

Reflex, I didn’t think you were being mean or anything, but I do think you misunderstood. I think she is an interesting and particularly beautiful normal. I said I was planning to buy a yellowbelly to breed her with, because a lot of people who looked at her recommended that morph as one that would go well with her markings.
