 Cinny clutch results

Well, i cut on day 53 for a few reasons.

I believe I got 4 cinnies, and 2 normals ( one cinny egg tho can be questionable-i am seeing the snake from bottom up so if its a flamed normal, could fool me.

However- the 2 normals- from what little i can see- look to be reduced patterned. Hope they got moms pattern!

Dont know if mom is a chocolate- she was speculated as maybe being a lower grade chocolate- i see simularities- but only really though of the possibilities when pairng- the guy i got her from did say she was a chocolate- however, i didnt think much on it. I am banking on her just being a nice brown backed normal.

will get better pics once they come out.

:D

ooooooo I want something other than a normal so bad. No one in town sells anything but normals. Question though.. Is there a reason for cutting the eggs other than just seeing what you have? Im just asking because I hear of so many breeders doing it. Does it help them get out on there own as well?

i dont breed so i dont now for sure but i think it has to do so if the snake broke its egg tooth off or cant slit its way out .

edf huge congrats sounds like you got good odds, i hope the normals have moms pattern thatd be cool!

about egg cutting, you cut the egg to yeah see whats in it but also to ensure that the snakes have an easy way out, baby snakes can actually drown in the egg if they are unable to cut their way out for some reason. once they are completely out of the egg they get put into a tub altogether until they shed at least thats how i plan on doing it

again huge congrats edf!! good stuff

You are all part right- if a snake can’t cut the egg itself- it will drown. They arent very smart- i heard stories of the snake cut the egg with the egg tooth, but then went back in, and didnt find its way back out and died. I had the snakes poke tons of slits in their egg just because they coud, and therefore did.

I cut for that- and to see what I got.

you can wait for the first one to pip if you want, or not cut at all. I know of peopel who do both ways. I am a cutter tho- too impatient. I just dont cut too soon. I wait til around 55 days. Did sooner this time. I know of people who cut at day 45, but i feel that could risk too much.

They will be in the eggs for aprox a weekish. Some may immerge sooner- and if they bother their cagemates, they may come out sooner. However, once you cut- dont bother them too much- if they come out too soon- they may have their yolk sac still on- its not the end of the world if they do- but they could tear their skin a little.

As my babies come out of the egg- i set them in the baby rack. Now, i sometimes buddy them up or put them all in one tub up until they shed ( usually i dont= but i was lait on getting baby tubs so some were doubled up.

Thanks guys; I cant wait til they come out!!
