Its Been 3 Weeks
The vet may force feed it that’s what mine did. Oh ya and bring a poop sample so they can do a culture. Then in a week or so you’ll be able to see if it has any bacteria.

Its Been 3 Weeks Try live before you take it to a vet! My snake hadn’t eaten f/t for 2 weeks and I tried live and it worked.

Its Been 3 Weeks Go with Your instincts, take it to the vet. I wouldn’t worry about it if it were not getting noticebly thinner, but, you said it was. There could be something else going wrong that requires immediate vetirinary attention.

Its Been 3 Weeks If a vet force fed a ball python after 3 weeks there is a good sign they are not qualified to see your snake. Force feeding can do more harm than good with any snake. 3 weeks is not terribly long but if the snake is very young i would be concerned. If the snake is not over 200 grams I would try feeding live because young ball pythons are stimulated by movement and teasing doesnt always work on them. If the snake is over 6 months and was fed well I would not be concerned in any way and the snake should pick up again. You cannot really go wrong with a vet visit but do your research first and do not be afraid to ask the vets experience with reptiles before your visit. If you are told by the receptionist "he/she has seen snakes before" you need to push a little harder and get a rough idea of how many snakes they have seen and what their experience is with them. Most vets are looking at cats and dogs all day and have no interest in reptiles so you need to go out and find the right vet for your snake. I have easily speken with 10 vet offices before taking my animals to see a dr. And even then I have stopped using 2 places I had thought qualified and later found out they were not qualified to my standards. Pay close attention and try and pick up on things like routines the vet gets ino such as "worming" every snake which is not eating. it is never a bad idea to give a worm treatment but if the vet thinks this is going to be the basis for getting all snakes eating again you will need to find a new vet. If your vet understands there are multiple aspects which can make a snake not eat, thoroughly examines you snake and lets you know what he?sje is checking and why then it is likely you have found a good vet. But even then you may not have the most experienced vet..just a good one...so its alright to get second opinions.
