When I had my 2 baby basilisk. I was feeding them 10-12 crickets/mealworms a day each. Dusted in a calcium supplement 6 times a week and vitamin suppment once a week. In total 50-60 crickets/mealworms dusted with calcium a week and 6-10 crickets/mealworms dusted with vitamins once a week PER Lizard. If you take a look at the water dragon forums, you will see ALOT of overweight dragons, which is not healthy one bit. A lot of those overweight dragons were "fed for 10minutes until they can’t eat anymore" which is extremely bad. And in such conditions they would eat 20 crickets/mealworms in a sitting. In regards to digestion, yes if they are provided heat they will digest it, but you can still overfeed. Meaning they can digest it does not mean it is ok to feed until they won’t eat. If you have any questions/conerns feel free to PM me or reply here, gl! |
