 Can i use tree branches from outside?

i was just wondering if i can use tree braches from out side because i cant seem to find any long braches in the stores. also my basilisk wont go in the water i think that the water is to cold for him what can i use to make it wormer. Can i put a heat mat under neath the water? also where can i find a waterfall filter. please feed back info soon thanks. by the way i got got a 75 gal tank.

yes a heating pad will work

and yes u can get branches from outside but dont use pine they r highly allergic (spelling) and they can die and u have to put them in the oven for 15 min on 400 degrease

and for the water i put my heat lamp right above the water and it makes it pretty warm try that
