i think your new cage plan is going to be great. make sure you put some water for him to swim to see them bathing and swimming is just very cool. i keep mine in a small room with some other lizards. they get along fine i put a 50 gal plastic pond in the room so when ever they want water they would just dive into. i love to watch them bathing and swimming. my chinese water ddragons never poop outside of the pond they do their business n the pood so is the basilisk. that just make my job easier i don’t have to clean the room very often. i also put a pond pump filter in the pond. oh my room is 6’x4’x7’ and i have some plants in there to keep the humidity up. i have 3 basking spots and 2 36 inches uvb bulbs and some other plants grow bulb i got from walmart. sorry i don’t have a picture of the whole cage.

Your cage sounds awesome, but if it was me iwould have more pools just so they have their own. But since they get along thats cool.Is that all you have?a basilisk and a cwd? If i had that big of a cage i would definetly have a pair of basilisks in their and do some breeding. |

i think you basilisk lizard is sick when you bought. the best way to do is like suicipill and basilis911 mention above take it to the vet. what is your set up like do you have a basking spot and a uvb light in the cage. from what you said it is like your lizard is having metabolic bone disease and calcium deficiency problem which is not enough heat, uvb light and improper diet. |
