 Rescued basalisks

hi all ive just managed to get a basalisk . my friends son had in this little tank . as you can see some of her tail is gone . can anyone tell me what sex it is . i say female

Looks female to me provided it is over 1 year old. If you could post pictures of it’s pores we could determine it for sure.

One thing with basilisk is, the males have bigger crests. HOWEVER though, if it was in a small cage than it could and probably is way underdeveloped

Make sure the tail is healed through as well.

I’m not too sure, but judging by the crest on top of its head it looks like the beginning development stages of a male.

That’s just how my Emerald looked when his was coming in.

How old is the basilisk? It could still be a female though.

Hello

what a stunner youve managed to get yourself there- its funny really as i myself have a rescued basilisk with a missing tail who i obtained through a friend. =)

A word of warning tho- that tail looks infected. please make sure that the infection isnt tracking up the tail, as it was in mine. Only yesterday i had to take her to the vets to have it amputated and get her antibiotics. I now have to inject the poor girl every 3 days. But if i hadnt she would have soon died.


oh, it looks defenatly like a female =)

look after her well she is gorgeous! beth
