 Dee or Denise, could either of me answer a really fast mealworm question?

I need to know how often to change out the potato slices. They get really gross really fast and I just need to know if I need to change them out daily or more often?

Also, how many potato slices should I put in there? it is a 6 qt shoebox with only 500 mealies in it so I don’t want any to miss out on moisture...

I have over 10,000 worms, so I find that I have to replace them daily..sometimes more than once a day. Also, i throw some carrots in for variety, and they seem to stand up a little better too. For my size container ( a huge under-the-bed storage container) I usually cut up 2 medium size potatoes and put them on top the wheat bran. Usually by evening, there’s almost nothing left of the potatoes.
