 OT-Can We Pull Together For Prayers Again, Please.......

Last night, my very good friends six year old son caught on fire. He is autistic and although everyone was home, he ran into the kitchen and turned the stove on. It is electric and so he won’t turn it on they take the knobs off. They don’t know exactly what happened, but they heard an explosion and when they ran in they saw him on fire. The only part of his body that is not covered in third degree burns is his face and his hands. He is in a coma and they are trying to stabilize him.

OMG I jus don’t know how she keeps sane. This is the girl that got hit by a car in her driveway a couple of years ago. I don’t know if you guys remember that. Yes, right after her husband was fired for having heart surgery. Right after their house caught on fire..............and on and on and on. I swear there is always something happening with them.

I just don’t know what to think. I am so sad and scared for her. She is like a sister to me and her kids are just like my kids. His name is Matteo. He is such a love.

Please help me pray for her so that he might make it through this. Althouh it will be a very long, painful and confusing road for him.

Ok, now off to work and to let them know what is going on.

OMG Edel I hope he is going to be ok. My oldest brother when he was 13 was set on fire... I hope it wasn’t to bad. But medicine and technology has came a long way since then was over 21 years ago. He burnt 62% of his body. My thoughts and prayers will be with your friend and her son....

Latest thing is that because he has no skin at all he is very cold and they are trying to keep him warm. The tightening has started, so they had to slice his arms. We don’t know anything else yet.

I am just sick. I am a mess. I can’t even imagine what she is feeling. All I am doing is crying.

No skin at all, and on top of that having to slice them? I can’t imagine the pain in that. Just having your arms sliced open with skin hurts bad enough... so dang!

This is terrible. Edel, please pass on hugs and wishes to the family. I can’t even imagine the pain you all must be in.

To ease the minds of those who are worrying about pain, it is likely that the doctors will keep him in an induced coma until such time as the pain is manageable with drugs.

Hey guys,

Thank you so much for being here. I told Kim and she is so very thankfull.

Matteo is attached to every possible thing you could think of. Because he has been trying to pull all the stuff out, they have sedated him. But the medication is causing him breathing problems, so they did put in a breathing tube tonight. Took him in for x rays because they want to make sure that everything inside is ok, since he’s been throwing up a lot more than is normal for a burn victim. His head is swollen three times it’s normal size and I could not even recognize him.
He has third degree burns from his neck down to his knees, and tomorrow at 1pm our time, they are taking him in to surger.
He did open his eyes and saw mom and dad. Huge tears fell from his sweet little face.

He has always been a fighter. He will fight with all he can through this one, that’s for sure.

I will be spending the afternoon with them tomorrow, and I will let you guys know how things are looking.

My entire family and circle of friends outside the zone have a prayer chain going for Matteo and his family, I have emailed everyone I know and asked them to email everyone they know, so this chain is growing.
To Kim, hang in there, we are with you, arms holding you and your family tightly to us. Matteo, fight baby fight, you can do this.

Oh my god, that poor little kid. I will pray he gets better. I cannot imagine how that mom had a mothers day. I know not a good one, but at least he is alive. Lets just hope the little guy will fight, though it will be a very long road for them.
