 DROPPING LIKE FLIES!!!!

I only have 8 out of 16 babies left!!!! I don’t even know what happened. I know they all died from the same thing though. The symptoms were:
1. Wobblyness
2. Muscle loss
3. Appetite loss
4. Death

The vets are at complete loss and research has found nothing.

Wasn’t there some virus effecting baby dragons or something a while ago?

Any help would be nice!!

thanks!!!

My X wants one of the 2 that is strong(she has so its not because she knows they are sick) and i’m keeping the otehr one(again i have know this not because of the illness)

:(

Last year the hatch rate was low but the survival rate was high.

I think Sheila might....um....whats the word....conatin the disease but not show the symptoms or have it effects her. IDK. All I know is that when she turns 7 she is getting her own cage and being retired. The next matings will be Quincey with Sakura and Sydney once they are old enough. I might get a male though so IDK.

Hey,

But if Qunicey mated with Sheila, it is possible that Quincey could have it.

Let me look through my stuff. I have an adress somewhere where you send in a poop sample and they test it for you.

No, Quincey isn’t mated with anyone. I got Quincey as an adoption with Cuddles from Terri last November I think.

Sheila is mated with Flame.

Jonah,

The thing is that you don’t know for sure whether it is or not. It is so tough, because with these guys, pretty much everything starts with loss of appetite, dehydration......and just being dehydrated (and being so little it happens so quickly) will cause weakness, therefore wobbliness and the appearance of muscle loss.

It is a feeling of helplesness no matter how or why they die. You just sit there and wonder and just hope you could do something for them.

Let me keep looking through my stuff.

Edel

Adenovirus is unlikey. Most dragons have a pretty good immunity to it now. It is more likely a bacterial infection. There are plenty of nasty things going around. I’ve even heard some reports of silkwoms carrying bacteria that will poison dragons. It could also be related to low humidity or even a genetic default. It’s just hard to tell. I’m sorry, Jonah.

And thanks everyone.

I don’t think these guys will be going out to the general public if they survive.

All staying here for research most likely.

JAMIE!!! OMG!!! I OW YOU THE WORLD!!!!

I upped the temps and they ALL are almost 100%

For some reason.....little purple dot(one of the two healthiest) now seems to have....neurological damage.

She can’t catch food and can’t turn her head without throwing her whole body. Walking in a straight line she is fine but if she has to turn she looks drunk.

Any infor on the new perdicament?

There are so many possibilities as to what the new symptoms could be. Viruses, inner ear infections, dehydration...it’s hard to really say without a vet visit. I’m glad that upping the heat helped you out. Like I said, that will help raise the immune system and help them fight any viruses, etc. that they might have come in contact with. When you spray them (twice a day), make sure that you keep spraying them until they are all done lapping up water. It is so easy for them to become dehydrated, especially with raised temperatures. REally stay on top of things, and you may see them pull through. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you!
