Deuce says Thanks XTA!!!!!!!!!! 
Well we went and picked up the silkworms from XTA today and got to officially meet Sleestack and Flapjack in person!!! And they got to meet Deuce!!! They are sooo AWESOME! You too XTA!!! Thanks again and of course Deuce says thanks! He’s still interested in them he ate 2 more today! I guess i just had to spoil him today! The lighting is pretty bad in this picture but just to let you know he likes them!

Not fair!!! I want to go meet them. You beat me to it.The bad thing is, I am dying to meet Slee, and I’m up in Northern Indiana and my mom lives in Atlanta, so I can go visit her, but my ulterior motive is to go see Slee while I’m down in Atlanda. I’m horrible!

me too! my aunt lives in Ocala(sp.) and wanted me to visit last year but i never made it down. so this year im going to hopefully and just kinda make my way to Xta’s house.lol

It was great meeting you two as well! Deuce is a handsome devil and very sweet. I think he wanted to kick Flapjack’s hiney but not sure what he thought of Slee?!Sleestack gave Julie and Brad a headbob when he first met them. Both got some petting time in although Julie was a little freaked out by him at first. He wanted out of his cage so we let him walk around a little with hopes he wouldn’t mess up his potty routine with all this excitement. Flapjack was getting a black beard of jealousy upon seeing Deuce, although he wasn’t sure what to make of another dragon and Slee in his room. I think he was overwhelmed and unsure where to focus his attention. Deuce got some headbobbing and stomping in. We didn’t let them all out on the floor at the same time or it would have been a 3 ring circus I’m sure. Highlights of the visit included:
Flapjack forgetting his manners and making a nasty poo on the tile.
Deuce eating a couple silkworms so he can be a lizard zen star (in the next few months)
Sleestack showing off his long tongue in an attempt to get at his treats, but refusing to eat his veggies (naughty boy!) All in all it was a good meeting. Julie and Brad are very cool peeps. Ahhh, lizards and worms, bringing people together.

We really enjoyed the visit. Deuce did too! Got his first taste of a silky and he actually liked it. Deuce wonders whats wrong with Flapjack, not wanting them!! LOL!!!
Slee was very nice, i must admit i was a little freaked, he is much bigger in person!! Brad really liked Slee, thanks, now he wants one!! LOL!!!Deuce said he cant wait to be a star on lizard zen!!!

Not all Iguanas are like Sleestack. I got a 911 call from my Karate instructor this morning. I answered it and it was her Hubby. He wanted to know what to do for an Iguana bite. It seems that the little girl that she has had for 13 years only about 2 1/2 ft, did not feel like getting her home cleaned so she bit my Karate instructor in the feltrum and nose, then when Sensei got loose Yani the Ig. decided that her thumb was fair game also. They literally had to pry her jaws open to get her to release Sensei Cindy. The call was because they were afraid they might have hurt Yani when they had to open her mouth. Sensei is very strong and the Ig was stronger. Not all Iguanas are like Slee and They do take a lot of work. I had a rescue call for a lady who wanted to give up her 4 ft. male because he was getting to be too much for her. If Brad wants I have her phone #. She is in Jupiter, Fl. not too far from me. I think Slee is extra special. I am sure it has taken Xta alot of work & patience to keep him nice. I bet a little time without someone handling him and he could turn meaner too.I am soooo jealous of Julie & Brad! Seeing green, and not the green in my favorite iguana boy either!

It did take a lot of time up front and through his first couple breeding seasons....now it’s just maintaining a relationship with him which isn’t that hard. That first year was a long one, however, and I was having serious regret because I couldn’t help but compare him to my last one which wasn’t really fair to Slee. He’s his own iguana and now I can appreciate that.

Oh I don’t regret him now....I just did for the first year....and maybe some othere times when he poopy painted himself and his cage...lolThey can just be a lot of work. And, he just doesn’t have the sweet personality of my last iguana, although he is a very good iguana in many ways. It is just harder to deal with his neurotic behavior than a mellow iguana.

I really wish beardies got up to like 3 ft. (not that they aren’t great or anything) that way there was an easy to care for, full of personality lizard that doesn’t get quite as big as an iguana.

Your other Ig sounded like one in a million. I met an Ig at my vets office. He had fallen off a counter and broke his arm. I asked if I could do Reiki on him and he was very responsive. I thought I would be taking my chances not getting chomped on, but he was very sweet.

I would love an iguana, but I know that I don’t have room for one so I’d never get one.I think beardies are the perfect size. I looked into leos and they are so tiny, I wanted something larger and now that Reuben is full grown I find him just right. He’s not as big as I thought he’d be (long I mean, he’s fat!). I’m starting to have that really bad itch for another one.

Boababe, there was someone around here a while back claiming they had a 33" beardie ROFL!!! We always joke it would be cool to have one the size they are in the posters we have/sell! lol Which would mean a head about a foot across I think!

Sure....I’ve gone to other reptile get-togethers a couple times, although I’ll never bring Slee again to one (unless it’s at my place of course). Flapjack is fine to go to gatherings elsewhere though. It’s actually much easier to take dragons places than iguanas in general!Snowdude, you’re welcome to come meet the gang next time you are in Orlando visiting Mickey Mouse.

Can Slee give Etiquite lessons.
Xta,
Yani is the Iguana I baby sat during the great storms of 2004. She has really done a number on my Karate instructor’s nose. The way her hubby described is like something in a horror movie....Sensei Cindy is bending over to pick up Yani to clean her cage and feed her, when all of a sudden this 2 1/2’ Inguana attached itself to her nose. The jaws were locked and my instructor was down on her knees reeling with pain. They finally pryed her jaws loose and there was blood all over her face, but it was not over....Yani latched onto her fingers and had to then be pryed off again....needless to say Sensei’s nose looks something like Jimmy Durante’s Schnoz. Her fingers all have bandaids on them. If you could picture the Iguana hanging off her nose it makes quite a colorful picture. I think we may have to bring Yani up to Slee for etiquite lessons.Joan A.
