HELP FOOD!!!
OK. My mom hates live krickets. I don’t know what else to feed it and i can’t get one "that eats live krickets." But i don’t want a different lizard after all this resaerch. Is there replacement food? Can you use store bought food? Is there a way to feed krickets that gurentees no loose ones?I would appriciate your advice. Thanks!

HELP FOOD!!! Jessetheherp..use spellcheck!! lol, well silkworms are an alternative, they are pricey but make a good staple. Also roaches, but i bet you couldn’t get those either. I keep mine outside so it won’t stink, the breeze carries away the stench if there is any, the key to not having a smell is to clean out the old food.

HELP FOOD!!!
Thanks guys, so silk worms will be ok as a meal once or twice a day? (I will also give him salads). That would be great. But my friend said that they don’t get away if your careful. Do you guys know any ways to help convince my mom to let me get one?

HELP FOOD!!! You should feed them a variety. You can use rep-cal pellets and veggies for part of your diet. For live prey you have a lot of choices. The worms are not as bad and won’t escape. There are many types...superworms, silkworms, hornworms, wax worms (treats), trevo worms, tomato worms (I haven’t tried those 2). Anyway, you can get some crickets and keep them in the garage and just pull some out and be careful. If you have a well rounded diet, you don’t have to use as many crickets. As your dragon gets older it should eat more veggies. You could get an older dragon which means it needs less live prey (some are picky though so if you do get an older one, make sure it eats veggies).

HELP FOOD!!! if your conditions are right, i can usually keep my crickets for a month, then they are all eaten and more would be coming to my door. I order about 2000 a month. The key to keeping crickets is keeping their game stench free and keeping them hydrated, dehydration is the number 1 killer of crickets.
