Idiot manager 
i have been looking for a job at a petstore. the only petstore that is hiring is petsmart. now if i get a job there, i will hopefully be able to correctly inform some people who are out to get a lizard.
anyways.... i went in to petsmart last night to get an appointment set up for an interview. i had Gimli with me (it was his turn to go out to a petstore, lol), and i asked to see a manager. well, this manager lad comes strolling up like she owns the place, and sees Gimli. she then says- "Is that Mali healthy? I don’t think they should be that color."
i couldnt decide whether to laugh at her or just go along with it to confuse her even more, haha!
i just decided to not say anything rude, as this person might hire me for a job. i just told her that Gimli was a bearded dragon, and her excuse was "Oh, I didnt see its tail."
Give me a break. What an idiot!!

I’m thinking of applying at petsmart cause you have to be 18 to work at Petco here! But I SWARE I’m going to get fired because when everyone leaves I will change their substrates FROM calci sand TO paper towels and they will complain it doesnt "look good"! But I know I atleast tried to do something about it!Steven

the only problem i see with this situation of you trying to change things is the fact that they do have the almighty" corporate" office. You don’t want to get your management fired for you doing something stupid. i know i did a full blown research paper for an essay in college on snakes and submitted it to petco in our area(luckily corporate offices were locted in san diego, where i worked) and they changed the substrate from forest bedding to aspen. you have to be 18 to work at any petco. Its always helpful to have knowledgeable associates working there, but stuff won’t change over night. you also dont’ want to risk your job over it either. yes i understand where you comming from, hence why i don’t work at petco ($hitco) anymore. i tried to change stuff and they got pissed. if you want more details email me at: kkopenski04@yahoo.com

That is one reason I would not work there when they tried to hire me. I refuse to go give incorrect or dangerous info, keep the animals that way and sell extremely over priced products to people. They don’t let you change anything in most cases.

hahaha... well ya never know, it might happen, lol...
i have to go in to petsmart tonight to watch a little movie thing that they make you watch to be sure if you want to take the job. i am still going to go in, and i hope i get hired. there is no reptile store around here, and if there was, i would be there in a heart beat! petsmart, unfortunately, is the only place to go right now. another reason i want a job at this place: my cousin branden worked at the petsmart in tucson for 4 years during high school and his first year of college, and during that time, he brought home dozens of aquariums that had been cracked or bumped or didnt have tops, etc... and i am talking some NICE tanks. he got one of those giant ones with a wooden stand and top, i think it is like 250 gallons or something, and he got it because there was a big dent in the wooden stand. now i am in desperate need for some tanks! my baby dragons are growing like weeds and will need their own homes soon.

hahaha, i get the same deal with no work. my local petco calls me to come pick up tanks when the get a crack or something. most of the time the are 20 gallons and i have a shed stacked of them in my backyard. im hoping they call with a nice tank but not many employees go near them for fear of breaking them, which is what i want them to do! ergh.lolhows the babies? espeacially the GG baby. by the time he’s grown and him and bagheera have babies i might be able to get another, so im keeping an eye out on them.lol
